The festival is held annually, on dates June 29 to July 3 in Toronto with the presence of famous Iranian director and festival founder Abdolreza Kahani for 5 days in different settings, all dedicated to independent films with free themes and also to stand against censorship.
The first edition of the festival was held last summer and it’s second is upcoming this year.
Selected films will be screened outdoors and on the big screen at night, other activities will be held in the afternoon including the red carpet, the film market, workshops and celebrations.
The festival prizes “Crystal Arkab” will be awarded to the Best Acting, Best Directing, Best Screenplay and Best Film.
In the acting category, women are judged alongside men and only one person is awarded.

Join us for The Ark Gate Retreat sessions every month! It’s a one-day experience in an amazing atmosphere to express yourself! You chill, brainstorm, and come up with the idea you want to work with for a short movie on the same day! We have unique methods of practice each month! Report on private face-to-face and online classes after one month:
1- Preparing to write a feature film script.
2- Writing three short scenarios.
3- Writing a script and researching a documentary film.
4- Pre-production of three short films.
5- Pre-production of a documentary film.
6- Acting of all acting students.
Notes:
– These classes are held under the supervision of Abdolreza Kahani and in a practical way.
– The films are presented to the festivals by ARK GATE FILMS company.
Selected short films that win grants are among the annual episodic feature films.
– So far, two of next year’s episodic films have been selected.
Added a short film of Dutch students to other episodes.
The film will be shot in the Netherlands on December 11 and 12 under the supervision of Abdolreza Kahani, and the group is currently rewriting the script and other stages of production.
Several episodes were previously filmed in different parts of the world in September and are currently in the post-production stages.
Made by ARK GATE FILMS students, the films will be released as a feature film by the same company early next year.
Ark gate is aiming to train students in three fields of film making , acting and script writing in short period of time. We offer private and one-on-one courses with our internationally recognized film maker, Abdolreza Kahani. Ark gate master classes train students to learn cinema by making films.

The PEACE IN PAIN trailer has been released. This feature film, directed by Moeinreza Motallebi and produced by ARK GATE FILMS, is in the post production stage and will be sent to international festivals.
